Regulations as drivers for reference data automation
9. Which regulatory requirements do you consider as driving forces for reference data automation?
Compared to 2008, the most important standards and regulations surprisingly have lost importance as driving forces for reference data management: only 42% of all interviewees consider MiFID as a driving force for reference data automation and 49% of financial institutions name Basel II. The US Sarbanes-Oxley Act is regarded as a driver by 24% of the surveyed firms. The UCITS III (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities), a EU directive, motivates just 14% of the survey participants to invest in their back office environment.
